Made an appointment for a last minute birthday trim and was grateful to see that Skye had an opening since I was previously her client at the salon's former location. I remembered how much I loved my cut then, along with how knowledgeable Skye is with all things hair, how friendly she is with sharing that wealth of knowledge, and how how her skills ultimately show for it! I had an unexpected commitment scheduled right after the appointment, and I SO appreciated Skye being accommodating and understanding - literally going turbo speed WITHOUT compromising the quality of the cut, and still being able to chat about my hair, and other non-hair related topics. While Skye surely channeled some additional Leo/fabulous energy for today's birthday cut, what I love the most is that I felt treated the same at my last appointment over four years ago. I saw Kyle on a girlfriend's recommendation. WOW! I have some skin issues and he never tried to spray me down with products that would have agitated the skin. Everything he used was gentle, and I'm super happy with the cut. My wavy hair is difficult to style and he gave me a cut that really works without a lot of time or energy. The atmosphere in the salon was also fun and it was clear that the stylists got along well which made it a pleasure to be there.

I still love this place immensely! I've since moved away, but I'm willing to take the hour drive just to go here. I've came a few times since this last review. Every time I enter this place I am greeted like family. I laugh and joke around with everyone. We're friends and they make sure every client is treated personally and beautifully! would give TEN stars if i could! I wanted a haircut and hair color appointment and am new to the area so I wasn't sure where to go. After doing some google searches, Salon Povera had good reviews and I saw Lochlyn mentioned a lot, so I requested her. WHEN I TELL YOU NO ONE HAS MADE MY HAIR LOOK BETTER. Okay first off, the color. I got my hair dyed four years ago and it was a terrible experience, the colorist gave me golden blonde highlights when I asked for ash brown. I was pretty nervous about getting my hair colored again, but I decided to risk it. Salon Povera had a cool little hair color booklet with dyed hair samples so you could see the actual undertones of the dyes and everything. Long story short, my hair is exactly what I asked for and more. I felt so beautiful in that chair and I feel so beautiful since leaving. Then, the HAIRCUT. Lochlyn is amazingggg. she evened out my layers while keeping my length. at the end of the cut, she went back and made my top layers just barely shorter, and all of the sudden it had bounce and curled beautifully at the ends.

PS: the vibe at Salon Povera is great, super queer friendly!!! everyone has great personality and it's such a vibe. Definitely have found my new salon home<3

I had Lochlyn as my hair stylist and she was amazing! She is kind, beautiful and down to earth. She is super easy to talk to and I had a genuinely good time. One of the best salon experiences I've had, HIGHLY recommend Salon Povera! There's such a good vibe inside, the stylists are super friendly (and they had Golden Girls playing on the TV when I went, you can't go wrong with that!)
Came in asking to chop my shoulder-length hair into a chin-length bob and Lochlyn did AN AMAZING job, I am so so happy with my new haircut! As someone with thick wavy/curly hair, I always get a little nervous with a new stylist but she knew exactly how to work with my kind of hair. She was also super sweet and fun to talk to, I can't recommend this salon enough!

As soon as you walk into the salon you are greeted with a warm welcome. I have been going to this salon for several years to get an ashy blonde color for my rather dark Asian hair. Patrick was very attentive and explained the process could take a while so we don’t ruin my hair with too much bleaching. After many months I have the perfect color and cute angled bob to go with it. He gives my hair volume and style and I leave feeling like a brand new person. I’ve also had a cut and color with Eric and he also does an excellent job. The entire team here makes me feel valued and pampered at every visit. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. It's evident that they genuinely care about their clients and strive to provide the best experience possible.
